The IAEA has recently published “Guidelines for the Certification of Clinically Qualified Medical Physicists” has been published. The subtitle is “Endorsed by the International Medical Physics Certification Board and the IOMP.”

As one of the contributors of the publication, Tomas Kron shared this remarks with the EXCOM: “In times of extensive use of technology in medicine most people would agree that medical physicists and their services are essential in many clinics. However, how to identify a suitable professional is not straight forward. The present document provides guidance for certification of medical physicists which can provide help. Best of all, like physics itself, the guidelines are applicable to all health care settings all ove
r the world.
