Dear Distinguished Guests, Esteemed Colleagues and Friends,
I am truly honoured to welcome you to our 15th Annual Conference. This year’s gathering is extraordinarily special for two major reasons; we turned 40 years strong in February and would be celebrating this landmark anniversary, our Ruby Jubilee! Secondly we would for the first time in Africa, be hosting the International Medical Physics Certification Board Exams. This year is indeed special!
Forty years ago, a small dedicated group of scientists and clinicians in Nigeria established the groundwork for our field. They understood that using radiation safely and effectively in medicine demands careful scientific stewardship. Today, we benefit from their achievements; NAMP has become a thriving community that promotes clinical excellence, advances academic research, and fosters technological innovation throughout Nigeria and beyond. As we gather to commemorate this remarkable achievement, we would also celebrate the people whose dedication, vision, and hard work have shaped our journey over the past forty years.
Our Annual Conference provides a valuable opportunity to learn, connect, and collaborate with colleagues, industry leaders, partners, and emerging professionals. Through an engaging program of keynote presentations, panel discussions, technical sessions, and networking events, we will explore new ideas, share experiences, and address the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
An anniversary of this magnitude is the result of collective dedication. I want to express my deepest gratitude to our National Executive team, the Local Organizing Committee, our members, our partners, and our generous sponsors who are working tirelessly to bring this event to fruition. Thank you for being an integral part of our forty-year journey. Let us celebrate our achievements, learn from one another, and boldly design the future of medical physics together.
I encourage us to take full advantage of the opportunities this year’s conference offers. If you are still deciding whether to attend or not, I encourage you to please do. You won’t regret it. Whether as a conference attendee, candidate for the board exams or one who just wants to join us in celebrating our ruby jubilee, you are all welcome to the giant of Africa! The home of the greats!
Once again I am truly honoured to be leading NAMP at a time such as this and look forward to receiving you at the Capital City of Abuja in November.
Come let’s celebrate!
Sincerely,
Iyobosa B. Uwadiae, PhD, DIMPCB, MInstP
