GLOBAL MEDICAL PHYSICS CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSE
This course is designed for practicing medical physicists in Nigeria. The weekly 6 months course was developed following needs assessment conducted in collaboration with the Nigerian Association of Medical Physicists and the international council of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine. This course will provide continuous education for practicing medical physicists. It is co-organized by the Education Global Medical Physics Education and Training Committee (GMPETC) of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), and the Nigerian Association of Physicists in Medicine (NAMP). Speaker: Akintokun Adekunle Hazeez Akintokun Adekunle Hazeez started his career as a Regulatory officer at the Nigeria Nuclear Regulatory Authority(NNRA) before moving abroad on a scholarship for a post graduate degree in Medical Physics. Adekunle is a board certified Medical Physicist by the International Medical Physics Certification Board (IMPCB). Adekunle has spent over a decade in the middle east working in tertiary Hospitals as a Medical Physicist in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine. He also served as the hospital’s Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) developing and implementing a comprehensive hospital radiation safety program. In his last role in the Middle East, he worked as a Senior Medical Physicist and was involved in teaching Physics and Radiation Safety to resident doctors, technologists and nurses. He also held a leading role in many projects which include constructions of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine departments, cyclotron facility, accreditation processes (ACR, CBAHI and JCI). REGISTER HERE
