Speaker: Akintokun Adekunle Hazeez Akintokun Adekunle Hazeez started his career as a Regulatory officer at the Nigeria Nuclear Regulatory Authority(NNRA) before moving abroad on a scholarship for a post graduate degree in Medical Physics. Adekunle is a board certified Medical Physicist by the International Medical Physics Certification Board (IMPCB). Adekunle has spent over a decade in the middle east working in tertiary Hospitals as a Medical Physicist in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine. He also served as the hospital’s Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) developing and implementing a comprehensive hospital radiation safety program. In his last role in the Middle East, he worked as a Senior Medical Physicist and was involved in teaching Physics and Radiation Safety to resident doctors, technologists and nurses. A Ph.D. student currently working on the Assessment of Radiological Hazards and Heavy metal levels in soil, plant and water around a uranium mining site in Nigeria. He is a lecturer and Research Associate in Department of Physics and Astronomy, faculty of Physical Science, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is a young and vibrant researcher with a research interest score of 74.3. He has published a few numbers of papers in web of Science (Thomson Reuters) indexed journals which are cited more than 12times with an h- index of 2.
