Prof. Moses Adebayo AWEDA is a Lecturer and Researcher at the Department of Radiation Biology and Radiotherapy of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. He commenced his academic career at St. Michael’s (Ang) Primary School, Omupo in Jan. 1961 after which he gained admission to Offa Grammar School, Offa, Kwara State in January 1969. He had his University degree education in Nuclear Physics at the University of Ife (Now Obafemi Awolowo University) Nigeria in June 1978, and M. Sc. degree at the same University in April 1983. In 1983/84 session, he proceeded to France for his doctoral degree in Clinical Medical Physics at the Paul Sabatier University, Centre d’Etudes Atomiques de Toulouse together with the then biggest Cancer Hospital in France, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Villejuif, Paris, France, where obtained the doctoral degree in December 1988.
He won the Federal Government of Nigeria Scholarship in 1974 for his B. Sc. degree programme in Nuclear Physics and as a result of his excellent performance, he also won the Franco-Nigerian Scientific and Cultural Exchange Co-operation Scholarship in 1983 for his Ph.D, Clinical Medical Physics degree.
Prof. Aweda M. A. has made notable contributions in the field of Medical Physics. He has published well over 70 quality academic papers in local and foreign peer-reviewed academic journals and his works have been widely cited in the literature. He has supervised and co-supervised about 10 Ph.D. Theses, about 100 M. Sc. and 7 Medical Physics Residents under the Federal Ministry of Health. Prof. Aweda M. A. has delivered 33 papers at Local and International fora. He has served as External Examiner/Doctoral Theses Assessor in several Universities within and outside Nigeria
